Half-human, half-Thule Pearl "Percy" Adams is an energetic and competitive tomboy who takes after her superhero father, a member of the storied Fishermen of New England. Back in the 1920's, a band of fishermen joined together to protect their coastal towns from smugglers. At first, these Fishermen were just men disguised as a fake invincible superhuman known as the Fisherman who used their numbers to make the Fisherman look as if he could be everywhere at once. But as the decades went by the Fishermen grew and developed as an organization. They were crimefighters in the 20's, explorers of explored lost islands and submerged ruins in the 30's and frogmen for the US Navy in the 40's.

It was while they were were Frogmen that they came discovered the Thule. When they boarded an experimental Nazi U-boat capable of teleporting they found themselves suddenly in the lower mantle of Earth in a sea of solid ringwoodite--with humanoids swimming in it, pushing away the blue crystal as if they were parting water. This is the other side of Percy's heritage--a telekinetic race that evolved before apes walked the surface.

The modern incarnation of the Fishermen use their historic experience with dimensional travel to serve as security teams for dimensional explorers. It is this incarnation that Percy belongs to as the first female Fisherman--a Fishergirl. Though pundits try and spin her joining the Fishermen as an iconoclastic statement against sexist traditions, they couldn't be further from the truth. Percy is fiercely proud of her Fisherman and Thule heritage. She joined not to break tradition but to carry tradition. She joined because she simply felt it was where she could do the most good--and with her telekinetic abilities being well above the Thule average she has validated her feelings with a record of commemorable actions.
